The first meeting of our Science Fair Coaches will be held at Benson HS, October 21, 2009, in Room 226, from 4-6 PM.  Nancy will explain the fair process, expectations and resources.

We look forward to a fantastic celebration of PPS Student Research Projects this spring!

Judges are encouraged to apply.  Judges hours on fair day will be 8:30-4:00. http://www.nwse.org/highschool

This is a real opportunity for our students.  Please encourage any PPS High School Students you know to take advantage of this.

8:00 - 8:45       Exhibit setup and breakfast-- big gym and auditorium

Students register, turn in any missing paperwork, get programs and badges and set up their projects

9:00 - 9:15       Orientation --big gym

9:15 - 10:15     Etiquette for Presenting Your Project --auditorium

10:30 - 12:30   Judging of Student Projects

12:30 - 2:00     Movies and Popcorn—auditorium (Teachers included)

2:00 - 4:00       Exhibit area open to the public.  Students at their exhibits.

4:00 - 5:00       Awards Presentation--auditorium

Schedule for judges:

8:30 - 9:00       Breakfast and orientation—downstairs conference room

                        Badges and instructions from Linda Mantel

9:00 - 10:30     View projects without students present—big gym

10:30 – 12:30 Judging with students—big gym

12:30 – 2:45    Lunch and decisions made by judges—downstairs conference room

3:00                  Data entry complete, judges excused

Public Transportation to Benson High School

Take the MAX to the Lloyd Center stop and walt across the green bridge ove I-84 about a block.  Benson will be on your left on NE 12th.  I will place signs at Benson directing you to our location.  If you are taking the bus there's good bus service from lines 70 (12th Ave) and in the morning, an express bus, 74 works as well from SE Portland --both stop right outside the school.
